Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Psiyiatric Assessment Nurse - Emergency to join our team at Providence Health Care. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support in our Acute Behavioural Stabilization Unit (ABSU).

About the Role:

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work closely with emergency physicians, nurses, psychiatrists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to patients presenting with mental health and substance use issues. Your expertise and skills will be essential in assessing patient needs, developing individualized care plans, and facilitating timely interventions to promote patient stability and recovery.

Responsibilities:

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and experienced nurse to take on a leadership role and contribute to the development and implementation of innovative care strategies. You will have the chance to participate in rounds/clinics, collaborate with nursing staff, and assist in the assessment of patient problems and needs, planning, prioritizing, and implementing nursing interventions.

Requirements:

To be considered for this position, you must possess a strong foundation in psychiatric nursing, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. A minimum of three years of experience in clinical specialty is required, as well as registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives as a practicing RN registrant. Additionally, you must be able to deal with and promote change, communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, and apply decision-making and analytical skills.

Providence Health Care offers a competitive salary range of $83,000 - $109,000 per year, depending on experience.
