Waterpark Safety Specialist
At West Edmonton Mall, we are seeking a highly skilled Waterpark Safety Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our aquatic emergency response team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of our guests while they enjoy our waterpark facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise all aquatic areas of the waterpark, including a 2000 person capacity wave pool.
- Assist guests in the safe and proper use of waterpark attractions.
- Respond to minor and major first aid situations and follow health, safety, and emergency procedures.
- Respond to distressed or drowning swimmers.
- Provide exceptional guest service and assist guests with questions or concerns regarding the facility and waterslides.
- Assist with cleaning the pool, pool areas, slides, and staff areas as required.
- Act as a role model for other staff.
Desired Qualifications:
- Must have current Standard First Aid or Aquatic Emergency Care, National Lifeguard Pool, and Oxygen Administration certifications.
- Possess the desire to obtain Lifeguard Fitness Skills, Oxygen Therapy, and advanced aquatic certifications.
- Must be safety-minded and have an interest in aquatics.
- Must be people-oriented and have excellent communication skills, including speaking, writing, reading, and understanding of the English language.
- Outgoing and personable, with a commitment to excellence in public relations.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced dynamic team environment.
- Must have previous guest service experience and excellent written and interpersonal skills.
Terms of Employment:
- Must be able to pass a basic security clearance.
- Ability to work in a hot and humid environment, in close proximity to water and chlorine, and stand for long periods of time.
