Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Metal Fabrication Specialist to join our team at Umbrella Group of Companies. As a key member of our platework fabrication plant, you will be responsible for operating metal cleaning equipment, transporting items throughout the plant, and assisting structural steel and platework fitters.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate metal cleaning equipment to remove excess welds, rust, scale, and other materials from metal products.
  • Transport items throughout the plant using powered equipment.
  • Transport raw materials, finished products, and equipment throughout the plant manually.
  • Immerse metal products in cleaning solutions.
  • Assist structural steel and platework fitters, sheet metal workers, metal machine operators, or other metal workers.
  • Sort metal sheets and parts, scrap metal, and other materials.
  • Grind or chip excess metal from metal products using hand tools.
  • Clean machines and immediate work areas.
  • Load and unload vehicles.
  • Polish metal products to a mirror finish.
  • Read and interpret work orders.
  • Operate a forklift.
Requirements
  • 3 years to less than 5 years of experience in metal fabrication.
  • Other trades certificate or diploma.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Own transportation.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Manual dexterity.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to lift heavy loads.
Working Conditions

This is a physically demanding role that requires working in a dusty, hot, and noisy environment. You will be required to stand for extended periods and work at heights.
