Job Summary
The Inclusion/Integration Specialist will be responsible for providing a high-quality program for participants with disabilities through positive experiences, communication, creativity, enthusiasm, and organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, implement, and deliver age-appropriate specialized programming, ensuring the programming meets the needs of all participants and is appropriately delivered.
- Supervise and provide direction to Inclusion/Integration Instructors.
- Assist with conducting pre-program visits with new families and ensuring participant profiles are accurately completed.
- Act as a resource for staff with participant daily needs, including personal hygiene, toileting, feeding, lifting, and transferring.
- Maintain a safe and clean program environment.
- Administer medications as required according to Corporate Policy.
- Utilize specialized equipment and apparatus.
- Handle program feedback in a professional manner by providing exceptional customer service.
- Assist with planning, organizing, evaluating, and documenting staff training.
- Assist with maintaining accurate inventory of program supplies.
- Interact with and ensure parents/guardians are informed of participant daily activities and overall well-being.
- Assist with completing administrative duties in a timely manner.
- Travel between work sites during shift.
- Maintain an understanding of department programs and services.
- Understand, adhere to, and enforce Corporate Policies & Procedures, Confidentiality Guidelines, Emergency Procedures, and Health and Safety Standards for all participants and staff.
- Attend meetings/training as required.
Selection Criteria
Required Experience
- Minimum 2 years of experience working with individuals with disabilities or exceptionalities.
Other Skills and Assets
- Minimum 18 years of age.
- Valid Ontario driver's license and full-time use of a vehicle.
- Current Standard First Aid/CPR C from an accredited organization, or ability to obtain within 1 month of date of hire.
- High Five Principles of Healthy Child Development or Sport Certification, or ability to obtain within 2 months of date of hire.
- High Five QUEST 2, considered an asset.
- Exceptional customer service and communication skills.
Additional Criteria for Camp Environment
- Lifesaving Society Safeguard certification, or ability to obtain within 1 month of date of hire.
Interview
The recruitment process will be completed with video conference technology.
