About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Aerospace Engineering Technologist to join our team at MTL Aerostructure. As an integral part of our engineering team, you will play a key role in the design, development, and testing of aerospace components and systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Development: Assist in the design, development, and testing of aerospace components and systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Inspection and Testing: Assist in inspecting, testing, and adjusting electronic components to ensure quality and reliability.
  • Prototyping and Testing: Assist in building and testing prototypes to specifications, ensuring that they meet the required standards.
  • Data Collection and Analysis: Collect and compile operational or experimental data to inform design and development decisions.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise technicians, technologists, and other engineers to ensure that projects are completed on time and to the required standard.
  • Project Management: Assist in the management of projects from conception to completion, ensuring that they are delivered on time and within budget.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as aerospace engineering or a related discipline.
  • Experience: 5 years or more of experience in a related field, with a strong understanding of aerospace engineering principles and practices.
  • Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Equipment and Systems: Experience with electric motors, generators, drives, and motor controls, as well as industrial processes.
  • Area of Work Experience: Research and development, with a focus on aerospace engineering.
  • Area of Specialization: Design, structures, mechanical components, and avionics.
  • Transportation/Travel Information: Willing to travel, with a willingness to travel internationally.
  • Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a strong attention to detail.
  • Personal Suitability: Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
