About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Aerospace Engineering Technologist to join our team at MTL Aerostructure. As a key member of our engineering team, you will play a critical role in the design, development, and testing of aerospace systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Development: Assist in the design, development, and testing of aerospace systems, including spacecraft, aircraft, and related components.
  • Inspection and Testing: Assist in inspecting, testing, and adjusting electronic components to ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Prototyping and Testing: Assist in building and testing prototypes to specifications, ensuring that they meet the required standards.
  • Data Collection and Analysis: Collect and compile operational or experimental data to inform design and development decisions.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise technicians, technologists, and other engineers to ensure that projects are completed on time and to the required standard.
  • Project Management: Manage projects from conception to completion, ensuring that they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standard.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, or electrical engineering.
  • Experience: 5 years or more of experience in a related field, with a strong background in design, development, and testing.
  • Work Setting: Experience working in a spacecraft manufacturing, air transport carriers, aircraft manufacturing, or urban area environment.
  • Equipment and Systems: Experience with electric motors, generators, drives, and motor controls, as well as industrial processes.
  • Area of Work Experience: Experience in research and development, with a focus on aerospace systems.
  • Area of Specialization: Experience in design, structures, mechanical components, and avionics.
  • Transportation and Travel: Willingness to travel, including internationally.
  • Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with attention to detail and excellent communication skills.
  • Personal Suitability: Excellent oral and written communication skills, organized, team player, accurate, and able to work in a hybrid work environment.
  • Workplace Information: 40 hours per week, permanent position, with a focus on delivering high-quality results in a timely manner.
