Senior MongoDB Database Manager

About the Role:
CA001 Marsh Canada Limited is seeking a highly skilled Senior MongoDB Database Manager to join our team in Toronto or Montreal offices or in any other local Canadian offices on a hybrid schedule.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage priorities and assign work to team members to ensure smooth project execution.
- Work closely with offshore teams to ensure seamless transition of work handover and resolve configuration/performance issues.
- Provide hands-on experience to guide team members on resolving complex database issues, including configuration, performance, and security.
- Support MySQL and PostgreSQL in addition to MongoDB, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of database technologies.
- Develop and implement strategies to ensure redundancy and high availability of databases, including distributed replica sets and DR failover and switchover knowledge.
- Upgrade MongoDB databases to higher versions, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance.
- Stay up-to-date with MongoDB licensing and ensure compliance with company policies.
Requirements:
- At least 2+ years of experience as a manager and 8+ years of senior DBA position working with MongoDB technology, with PostgreSQL experience a plus.
- Experience managing a medium-sized team of 4 to 10 DBAs, delegating work, and assigning priorities.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to conceptualize and reason complex problems.
- Knowledge of audit, security, and encryption at rest, with hands-on experience with MongoDB installation and configuration.
- Experience implementing multi-data center replica sets and sharded clusters in Linux and Windows environments.
- Ops Manager: implementation, monitoring, backup, and automation.
