This is an exciting opportunity for a Manufacturing Operations Specialist to join our team at our East York, ON facility. The primary focus will be on assembling and packaging parts, ensuring the efficient use of components as specified in the Bill of Material. The ideal candidate will be proficient in operating all machines within the plant, reporting any non-conformities to the Production Supervisor, and adhering to strict quality control standards.

The Manufacturing Operations Specialist will play a critical role in ensuring the production of high-quality products while following established health and safety protocols. This position is based on a 12-hour continental shift schedule, with both day and night shifts available.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up workstation according to established standards
  • Perform various assembling tasks, including inserts, collar inserts, heat inserts, regular screws, self-tapping screws, covers, gasket installation, reaming, bagging, and preparing Work-in-Progress
  • Complete various packaging tasks, such as bagging, packing to order requirements, checking and applying correct carton labels, stacking cartons to required skid configurations, verifying quantity accuracy, and applying operator stamps
  • Identify, sort, and rework nonconforming parts, obtaining Quality Control approval for scrap
  • Enter scrap into the Manufacturing Execution System (MES)
  • Participate in the facility's waste management program
  • Understand and adhere to Operator 5S responsibilities
  • Perform other tasks as assigned

Requirements:

  • Completion of High School or equivalent experience required
  • Experience in a plant or manufacturing environment is an asset
  • Proficiency in using all tools and machines within the plant, including manual, hand, pneumatic, electrical, and rotary tools
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Able to perform repetitive tasks and possess good attention to detail
  • Familiarity with health and safety practices in a manufacturing environment
  • Intermediate level of hand dexterity and hand-eye coordination
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Basic arithmetic proficiency
