Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement standards and best practices for the team
  • Assemble and lead strong teams with the right attitude who are not afraid to innovate and take calculated risks
  • Work as a mentor for the Database Services Engineering organization
  • Foster reuse and collaboration across teams
  • Document best practices and continually improve processes
  • Ensure consistent governance and best practice is always met
  • Drive engineering excellence and organize COE meetings to ensure the team remains on target with strategy, goals, and plans

Requirements:

  • Highly experienced in databases, processes, controls, and audit practices

  • Duties: Works on POCs (25%), Works on Best Practices (25%), Works on DB Service improvement (25%), Works on Engineering (15%), Works Audit & Compliance (10%)

What We're Looking For:

  • Strong skill set in Database Security
  • A degree in computer science, Information Systems Management, or Engineering, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written, and strong organizational skills
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of ITIL processes, audit drivers and processes, security policies and processes, and database monitoring tools
  • Excellent technical knowledge in supporting Windows and Linux based Database Technologies in one or more of SQL Server, Oracle, MongoDB, Postgres, MySQL
  • Cloud computing technologies and environments as well as containerization

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with ITIL Continual Service Improvement (CSI)
  • Strategic thinking and wide degree of creativity
