Job Title: Program Assistant - Client Care Specialist

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Program Assistant to join our Adult Day Program team at ONE CARE Home and Community Support Services. As a Program Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to our clients, while working collaboratively with our team to create a safe and inclusive environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in planning and implementing a variety of therapeutic, social, and recreational activities for clients.
  • Assist clients in performing activities of daily living, including bathing and toileting.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential client records.
  • Work cooperatively and communicate effectively with team members, including staff, volunteers, and caregivers.
  • Ensure the rights and privacy of clients, volunteers, and staff are maintained.
  • Perform housekeeping duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Experience working with seniors and providing personal care.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Physically capable of performing assigned duties, including client transfers.
  • Current First Aid and CPR certificate.
  • Diploma or certificate in Recreation, Activation, Gerontology, PSW, RPN, Social Worker, DSW.
  • Will consider equivalent education and experience.
  • Social Recreational Planning/Implementation an asset.
  • Gentle Persuasive Approach and Montessori training will be considered an asset.
  • Valid drivers license and proof of insurance.
  • French speaking would be considered an asset.
