About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Horticultural Team Lead to join our dynamic team at Sigma Workforce Solutions. As a Horticultural Team Lead, you will play a key role in leading our team, managing projects, and overseeing the design, installation, and maintenance of our outdoor spaces.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Implementation
    • Enhance existing landscape designs, incorporating native plants and water conservation techniques.
    • Utilize strong organizational skills to effectively lead and manage the design team, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Customer Focus
    • Understand customer needs and preferences to deliver tailored landscape solutions.
  • Horticultural Expertise
    • Leverage a background in horticulture to oversee plant health care, landscape maintenance, and ensure the sustainability and vitality of our outdoor spaces.
  • Communication and Teamwork
    • Communicate with clients, team members, and management in a professional and friendly manner.
    • Actively participate in various horticultural services, including plant layout, installation, pruning, watering best practices, and pest control.
  • Operational Excellence
    • Ensure work is performed efficiently and safely in accordance with WSIB standards.
    • Conduct daily inspections of the work vehicle and tools/equipment.
  • Leadership and Development
    • Participate in the selection of new team members.
Requirements
  • Professional Qualifications
    • Professional-level knowledge of perennials, groundcovers, shrubs, and trees, and horticultural maintenance best practice techniques.
    • Horticulture certification/diploma is considered a valuable asset.
  • Technical Skills
    • Proficiency in computer applications such as Microsoft Office, Quickbooks, and HindSite.
    • Ability to sketch garden layouts and read drawings/plans/specifications is an asset.
  • Personal Qualities
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in service and client care.
    • Ability to work flexible hours.
    • Have a G Driver's License and clean driving abstract (abstract available upon request).
    • Fit and willing to work outdoors in all weather conditions for extended periods.
    • Ability to carry, climb, push, stoop, reach, dig, and load/unload various objects.
    • Ability to operate various landscape power tools and related equipment.
What We Offer

    • $30.00-$35.00 per hour
