About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Cost Accountant to join our team at Vaco. As a Senior Cost Accountant, you will play a critical role in participating in month-end close activities, creating journal entries, and preparing standard financial and operational reports.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in month-end close activities, including creating journal entries and preparing standard financial and operational reports.
  • Perform work order review and analysis, assessing accuracy and completeness.
  • Prepare financial analysis to monitor spending in key areas, such as scrap, spending, and inventory.
  • Maintain active participation in plant operations and reviews and reports on inventory transaction activities.
  • Calculate standard cost for new products and process improvement changes to products.
  • Assist in the development of annual plant budget and standard cost calculations.
  • Execute annual physical inventory activities and monthly cycle count analysis.
  • Monitor and review asset additions, transfers, and disposals, ensuring complete and accurate supporting documentation.
  • Maintain and improve process documentation and controls associated with manufacturing costs and inventory valuation.
  • Represent Accounting/Finance on teams designed to improve operations, reduce costs, and represent the company in a professional manner.
About You

We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual with a Bachelor's degree in accounting and 4+ years of Cost Accounting experience with a manufacturing company. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to multitask effectively and adapt to changing priorities.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting.
  • 4+ years of Cost Accounting experience with a manufacturing company.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently with little or no supervision.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and deadline-driven with proven ability to multitask effectively while adapting to changing priorities.
  • Derive energy from facing challenges and provide actionable solutions.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Requires a demonstrated ability to be objective and use good judgment.
  • Troubleshoot critical issues in a timely fashion.
  • Good social acumen.
  • Strong conceptual and analytical thinking.
  • Ability to analyze data and provide evidence-based recommendations.
