Palliative Care Technician Position in Home Healthcare

We are seeking a skilled Personal Support Worker to join our team as a Palliative Care Technician. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our clients.
Job SummaryThe Palliative Care Technician will work under the direction of a Registered Nurse, providing direct care to clients in their homes. This role requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities- Observe and document clinical data in patient electronic medical records according to VON guidelines
- Provide personal care to support activities of daily living and medication administration
- Maintain open communication with clients, families, and healthcare teams through virtual monitoring systems
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and modify patient care plans based on observed outcomes
- Personal Support Worker (PSW) certification or Developmental Support Worker (DSW) certification
- 1-2 years of experience as a PSW in palliative/pediatric or acute care settings
- CPR and First Aid certification
- Fundamentals of Palliative Care - Level I course completion or commitment to take within first year of employment
This role requires working in a dynamic environment, with physical activity including lifting, carrying, bending, reaching, kneeling, and other movements emphasizing good body mechanics. Individuals must be able to walk, sit, stand, and climb stairs throughout the day.
Estimated Salary Range$55,000 - $65,000 per annum, based on location and experience.
