Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Health and Safety Coordinator to join our team at American Iron and Metal. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and coordinating various health and safety initiatives, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and promoting a safe working environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Health and Safety Management
    • Develop and implement health and safety policies and procedures
    • Conduct regular risk assessments and audits to identify potential hazards
    • Collaborate with management and employees to develop and implement corrective actions
  • Reporting and Statistics
    • Manage and analyze health and safety statistics and reports
    • Develop and maintain dashboards and other visual aids to track key performance indicators
  • Communication and Training
    • Develop and deliver training programs to employees on health and safety procedures and protocols
    • Communicate health and safety information to employees and management through regular meetings and updates
  • Document Management
    • Develop and maintain health and safety documentation, including policies, procedures, and records
    • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements for document management
  • Team Support
    • Provide support to the EHS team in the management of their files and documentation
    • Collaborate with the team to develop and implement health and safety initiatives
Qualifications
  • Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or relevant practical experience
  • Experience in an industrial environment, an asset
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Bilingual (French/English)
  • Strong planning, organization, and time management skills
  • Strong written and oral communication, listening, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent synthesis and communication skills
Additional Information
  • Full-time, permanent, on-site position
  • Work schedule: Monday to Friday, 40h/week
