Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Cutting Expert to join our team at Carfair Composites, a leading manufacturer of fibre-reinforced plastic products. In this role, you will be responsible for cutting materials according to specifications using various equipment and tools.

About the Role
  • You will work in a fast-paced production environment, cutting materials such as fiberglass mat, foam, and balsa based on department requirements.
  • You will use a range of equipment, including table saws, band saws, CNC machines, and manual hand tools to cut components accurately and efficiently.
  • You will read blueprints and ensure that parts are finished to the specified standards.
Key Responsibilities
  • Cutting materials according to laminate schedules with minimal waste.
  • Operating air and power tools to cut, trim, drill, route, sand, and grind materials.
  • Loading and unloading materials, storing and managing inventory, and ensuring quality standards are met.
  • Supporting Lean and 5S initiatives to maintain a clean and organized workspace.
  • Maintaining assigned department tools and equipment, and documenting non-conformities.
Requirements
  • You have knowledge of relevant measuring and testing equipment applicable to the product.
  • You possess good verbal and written communication skills, as well as the ability to work independently and with a team.
  • You demonstrate initiative and sound judgment in your work.
  • You can operate lift trucks, dollies, and pallet jacks safely and effectively.
