Job Description

This role is categorized as hybrid, requiring the successful candidate to report to the Markham Elevation Centre and Oshawa Elevation Centre at least three times a week.

The Director of Vehicle Distribution, VSSM Canada, is a key strategic leadership position within Vehicle Sales Service and Marketing. The position leads the distribution function, including industry and sales forecasting, production scheduling, and order management. This is a critical role in ensuring sufficient allocation and vehicle inventory turn rates to achieve GMCC volume and revenue targets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct and coordinate the monthly cycles associated with vehicle scheduling, sales forecasting, and order management to maximize GMCC revenue and Consensus coverage.
  • Manage and work to streamline and modernize all associated allocation and sales/inventory systems and reporting.
  • Lead stakeholder communications throughout the organization.
  • Interpret "big data," including segment and share data, find insights, communicate findings in a compelling fashion, and help drive solid business decisions/communications.

  • High level of interpersonal skills.
  • High level of analytical ability.
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Strong skills in collaboration, decision making, initiative, organization/time management, dealing with ambiguity, oral and written communication, and proficient knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, Order Workbench, Power-BI or equivalent reporting automation software.
  • Strong knowledge of GM products and customer expectations.
  • Demonstrated ability to streamline processes and innovate.
  • High level understanding of order fulfillment processes.
  • Awareness of the relationships between different functional areas and teams at GM and how they impact vehicle distribution.
  • Prior field/regional sales experience and comprehensive understanding of dealership operations (consensus & ordering).

Preferred Requirements

  • Previous experience in regional distribution or vehicle scheduling is an asset.

Education and Training

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of Vehicle Sales & Marketing experience.

Location:

In-person collaboration is valuable for this Hybrid role, requiring an average of three days in-office per week. Location will be split between OEC and MEC sites depending on where stakeholders are on a given day. Occasional travel within U.S. and Canada is required.
