Job Summary

As a Senior Consultant, Communications at Fraser Health, you will play a key role in supporting the organization's vision, values, and purpose. Your primary responsibility will be to provide consultation to internal stakeholders, including Executive Directors, Medical Directors, and other leaders, on strategic communication strategies that align with regional and Fraser Health-wide initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement communication strategies to engage internal and external audiences, promoting an open dialogue and understanding of important issues, challenges, and opportunities.
  • Collaborate with the Communication & Public Affairs team to engage employees, physicians, volunteers, patients, and the community in cultural renewal and promoting a positive corporate image.
  • Develop and recommend strategic communications and promotional plans for Fraser Health-wide and local programs, considering factors such as audience characteristics, corporate vision, and industry best practices.
  • Provide supervision and work direction to assigned staff, including selection, hiring, orientation, performance management, and termination processes.
  • Coordinate and evaluate external and internal suppliers involved in communications-related projects, ensuring adherence to corporate graphical standards and other requirements.

Requirements
  • University degree in Communications, Public Relations, or a related discipline, supplemented by five to seven years of recent experience in a communications or public affairs role in a large public sector, healthcare, or similarly complex organization.
  • Sound knowledge of communications concepts, strategies, and technical skills, with the ability to provide strategic counsel to others.
  • Ability to manage projects on budget and on deadline, with a demonstrated understanding of the essence and subtleties of communication.
  • Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
