About the Role
We are seeking an experienced leader to join our engineering team as a Product Development Director. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for leading the development of new products and upgrading existing ones, from conception through production. Your expertise will be essential in managing multiple concurrent projects, developing policies and procedures, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Main Responsibilities
- Lead the engineering team in product development, ensuring timely and successful launches.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, utilizing standard and visual project management methods.
- Develop and implement policies, standards, and procedures for engineering and technical work.
- Collaborate with production, sales, and marketing teams to ensure product specifications and procedures meet business needs.
- Oversee the coordination and integration of technical activities in engineering projects.
- Ensure designs, drawings, and test specifications support successful manufacturing.
- Lead problem-solving efforts in manufacturing and product development, focusing on mechanical, assembly, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, paint, and test processes.
- Work with internal and external manufacturing teams to improve capability, yields, and capacity through design for manufacture.
Requirements
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience leading in a product development, engineering, or manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge and understanding of manufacturing processes, including control, methods, and automation.
- Working knowledge of technical writing for manufacturing documents, such as PFMEA, Process Flow, Control Plan, Work Instructions, and Checklists.
- Strong knowledge of small engine components, including mechanical and electrical aspects.
- Desirable: Degree, diploma, or equivalent experience in General, Industrial, Mechanical, Manufacturing, Electrical, or Process Engineering.
- Relevant software experience, such as MS Office, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, etc.
