Validation Specialist

Job Summary
The Validation Officer plays a crucial role in ensuring the success of the Dealer Finance Centre (DFC) in Canada by executing individual goals, plans, and initiatives in support of the team's business strategies and objectives. This position is responsible for verifying and validating information contained in approved indirect loan/lease agreements and related supporting documents prior to releasing funds to automotive dealerships.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform all verification activities related to approved Indirect Loans and Leases received for funding by completing the Contract Message Screen, verifying loan and lease documentation, and attaching documents on the Validation Screen.
- Ensure that all lease documents are within Bank guidelines and meet the Bank's contractual obligations to the Residual Value Insurer.
- Resolve all identified discrepancies by identifying issues, taking corrective measures, and communicating with dealerships to make corrections to documentation.
- Champion a customer-focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and processes.
- Actively pursue effective and efficient operations of their respective areas, ensuring the adequacy, adherence to, and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk, and conduct risk.
Requirements
- Ensure customer profile fits the information on the document provided, and credit bureau.
- Review Down payment amount and/or source, and justify a buyer outside of their province of residency or contact the lending team for a justification.
- Understand how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
- Champion a high-performance environment and implement a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops, and motivates their team by fostering an inclusive work environment.
Language Requirements
Pursuant to a language needs assessment conducted by Scotiabank, the successful candidate will be required to be able to communicate in English & French because they will serve English-speaking clientele.
