We are seeking a highly skilled Geophysicist to join our team at Expert Geophysics Limited. As a Geophysicist, you will play a crucial role in advancing our understanding of the Earth's surface and subsurface features.
Key Responsibilities- Theoretical and Applied Research: Conduct research to extend our knowledge of the Earth's surface and subsurface features, including the analysis of geological, geochemical, and geophysical data.
- Model Development and Software Analysis: Develop and apply models and software for the analysis and interpretation of data, including the identification of chemical, mineral, hydrocarbon, and biological composition.
- Natural Risk Assessment: Identify and advise on anticipated natural risks, including the planning and implementation of mitigation strategies.
- Core Sample Analysis: Plan and direct analytical studies of core samples to identify their chemical, mineral, hydrocarbon, and biological composition.
- Data Analysis and Interpretation: Plan, direct, and participate in the analysis and interpretation of geological, geochemical, and geophysical survey data, well logs, and other test results, maps, notes, and cross sections.
- Field Studies and Drilling: Plan, direct, and participate in geological, geochemical, and geophysical field studies, drilling, and geological testing programs.
- Resource Development: Recommend the acquisition of lands, exploration and mapping programs, and mine development.
- Navigation and Equipment Operation: Operate GPS and other navigation equipment.
- Work Environment: A combination of sitting, standing, and walking.
- Attention to Detail: High level of attention to detail required.
- Accuracy and Judgement: Accurate and sound judgement required.
- Reliability and Teamwork: Reliable and able to work effectively as part of a team.
- Work Term and Language: Permanent position with English as the primary language of communication.
- Working Hours: 30-40 hours per week.
