Candidates for the Conductor position at CPKC will have the opportunity to work in either train or yard service, depending on seniority. As a Conductor, you will be responsible for carrying out specific instructions detailing a train's route and movements, coordinating the switching of cars, observing and interpreting signals, and signaling crew members for movement.
The successful candidate will maintain a thorough understanding of and follow General Code of Operating Rules (GCOR), general orders, and bulletins. They will also provide flag protection and relay signals to trains in emergency situations, move on and off moving or stationary equipment, and fill out forms and prepare reports.
We are looking for individuals who possess excellent focus, attention to detail, and multitasking skills, as well as strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
