Key Responsibilities
As a key member of our Maintenance team, you will be responsible for managing parts inventory and work order parts assembly. Your duties will include:
- Coordinating the supply and delivery of materials to meet work order specifications
- Building material kits based on Work Order requirements
- Picking orders for Trades to assemble work orders
- Maintaining a material and power tool sign in/out logbook to track location and account for power tools
- Maintaining order and cleanliness of Central Stores area
- Performing administrative tasks such as Work Order entry and utilizing company vehicle to source local parts and pick up specific parts
- Working with the Maintenance Planner to send equipment for servicing to appropriate vendors following outlined purchasing procedures
Inventory Control
You will be responsible for:
- Monitoring stores inventory levels
- Maintaining inventory records in SAP
- Updating Bill of Material in SAP
- Preparing Purchase Requisitions for replenishment
- Conducting cycle counts and recording maintenance
- Reporting to management on stock levels and accuracy
- Receiving goods from Central Receiving, unpacking shipments, and putting away
- Verifying the correctness of stock quantities received
- Preparing, packing, and creating Bill of Materials for items to be returned to vendors
- Maintaining inventory of paint, lubricants, and safety consumables
- Optimizing inventory levels by identifying obsolete and low-usage parts
Purchasing
You will be responsible for:
- Purchasing non-production Maintenance and Engineering items
- Capex equipment and services
- Creating Purchase Requisitions for out-of-stock or specialty items and communicating requirements to Purchasing
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Post-secondary education with previous Central Stores experience
- A clean driver's abstract
- Mechanical and electrical knowledge
- General knowledge of industrial equipment and parts
- SAP experience
- Microsoft Excel skills
- Good organizational skills
- Ability to work well under pressure
- Union environment exposure an asset
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to lift heavy objects up to 20kg
- Mobility to access most areas of a large plant site

You will be required to comply with standard operating procedures, legal and other requirements, including health and safety, fire protection, environmental, quality, security, and continuous improvement programs.
