The estimated salary for this role is $120,000 - $150,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Financial Reporting Manager to join our team. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and completeness of reported financial position and results.

You will act as a partner within the organization on financial reporting policies and the application thereof. This includes preparing and/or reviewing external statutory financial statements, including all note disclosures, for legal entities in accordance with IFRS.

  • Prepare and/or review external statutory financial statements, including all note disclosures, for legal entities in accordance with IFRS.
  • Act as a liaison with external audit firm for planning, interim and annual audits;
  • Oversee the reporting of monthly financial results and distribution of management pack to parent company, Board members and executive leadership;
  • Support enhancements and efficiency projects as necessary.

You will also lead the annual balance sheet and cash flow budgeting and forecasting process; lead the annual impairment analysis when trigger exists, which encompasses preparing the value in use analysis, obtaining management and parent company alignment, as well as liaising with external partners to obtain necessary inputs.

Additionally, you will ensure sufficient internal controls relevant to the financial reporting processes are in place, and lead improvement activities. You will partner in the analysis of financial results and be responsible for the accuracy and completeness of financial master data across all systems.

Monitor for changes in financial reporting, accounting and auditing standards, alert management and quantify potential impact. Manage, support, and review the preparation of corporate tax returns with external preparer.

Prepare supplementary reports to assist management in evaluating financial performance. Act as consultant for accounting and reporting matters to ensure business and financial processes are aligned to IFRS.

Comply with all Health & Safety policies and requirements. Ensure compliance with privacy policies, regulations, and cyber security measures.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A post-secondary degree in Finance or Accounting
  • Professional Accounting Designation (CPA or equivalent)
  • Minimum 6 years of relevant financial accounting and reporting experience
  • Strong technical accounting skills and knowledge of IFRS
  • Experience with SAP and Cognos is an asset
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
