Citi is seeking an experienced Senior Financial Reporting Manager to support our control activities in conjunction with our team managers. This role will focus on adequacy of design of controls, and ensuring that the proper mechanisms are in place to efficiently monitor the ongoing effectiveness of those controls.

This is an excellent opportunity for an industry professional to join Citi and take on a senior management level position.

Responsibilities:
  1. Oversight of Manager Control Assessment (MCA) to assess effectiveness of controls, communicate gaps to management, and enhance where required.
  2. Monitor CAPs (Corrective Action Plans) assigned to the department as a result of Manager Control Assessment and/or Audit reviews. Ensure appropriate validations of CAPs/Issues take place prior to closure.
  3. Lead the enhancement, development and implementation of internal controls relevant to Citi policies and standards overseen in this role.
  4. Assist the team during internal audits of Canada finance team and related processes and controls, and manage the outcome.
  5. Build relationships with functional business leaders, and cross-functional team members to identify, escalate and mitigate emerging risks; and lead or support projects to address those risks.
  6. Manage projects assigned by the Country Finance Officer that may include implementing emerging accounting or regulatory requirements, implementing new processes, and supporting regional or global initiatives.
  7. Maintain a list of all IFRS accounting policies impacting the Canada Franchise and liaise with Head Office to update and implement as necessary.
  8. Maintain list of all projects impacting the Canada Franchise finance team and assist teams where required.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, Economics or equivalent experience required.
  2. A professional accountant designation is preferred.
  3. Understanding of the regulatory environment for banks and broker/dealers is required.
  4. 8-10 years of progressive work experience (with a focus on audit, accounting, controls and process management).
  5. Strong knowledge of internal control principles.
  6. Proven analytic and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze and develop unique solutions to business issues.
  7. Demonstrated leadership skills, with ability to influence and gain support for objectives.
  8. Self-motivated individual capable of adapting to change, managing multiple tasks and continuously evaluating priorities to lead tasks/projects to completion.
  9. Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  10. Experience with large scale implementation at financial institutions.

The salary range for this position is approximately $120,000 - $180,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience.
