Aircraft Body Painter

We are seeking an experienced Automotive Body Painter to join our paint and finishing department. This is a full-time position based at our airport facility in Port Alberni, BC. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of a Red Seal Paint Manager and will be responsible for preparing, priming, and painting aircraft components, parts, and panels.

• Assess current needs and determine which projects and locations require attention
• Prepare, prime, and paint aircraft components, parts, and panels
• Mix paint and operate equipment
• Work with stencils, decorative items, and other materials
• Use scrapers, solvents, sandpaper, acids, and other refinishing products
• Paint aircraft parts while adhering to procedure and specifications
• Use appropriate painting and polishing techniques to complete assigned tasks

• Minimum 5 years of experience as an Automotive or Aviation painter
• Knowledge of paint properties, mixing, and application onto various surfaces
• Knowledge of proper cleaning, sanding, and preparation work prior to painting or polishing tasks
• Good communication skills
• Able to work independently and with a team

• Preference given to those with an Automotive Refinishing Technician "Red Seal" Certification
• Experience in the aviation industry is considered a significant asset
