Due to our company growth and expanding footprint, we are looking to add to our team and hire an experienced Automotive Body Painter to work on our aircraft and ground fleet.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:

Coulson Aviation is expanding and looking to add an experienced Automotive Body Painter to its paint and finishing department. Reporting to a Red Seal Paint Manager with an Automotive Refinishing Prep Technician ticket and Automotive Paint ticket, this is a great opportunity for a chosen candidate work with a dynamic group of individuals in an industry like no other. This person will gain exposure to many different and unique projects ranging from large, fixed wing aircraft and helicopters, ground fleet, as well as newly manufactured parts and automotive projects.

This full-time position is based at Coulson Aircrane Ltd.'s airport facility in Port Alberni, BC.

Compensation for this position will be competitive with market rates and based on experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Reports to the Paint Manager to assess current needs of the day and determine which project(s) and location(s) will require attention
  • Preparation, priming, and painting of aircraft components, parts, and panels
  • Mixing paint
  • Equipment operation
  • Spray gun operation
  • Working with stencils, decorative items, CG images, etc.
  • Works with scrapers, solvents, sandpaper, acids, and other refinishing products.
  • Painting of aircraft parts while adhering to procedure and specifications
  • Use appropriate painting and polishing techniques and other related skills to complete assigned tasks

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience as an Automotive or Aviation painter
  • Knowledge of paint properties, mixing, application onto a variety of different surfaces
  • Knowledge of proper cleaning, sanding, and required preparation work prior to any painting or polishing tasks
  • Good communication skills
  • Able to work independently and with a team

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

  • Preference given to those with an Automotive Refinishing Technician "Red Seal" Certification
  • Experience in the aviation industry is considered a huge asset

This full-time position is based at Coulson Aircrane Ltd.'s airport facility in Port Alberni, BC.

Compensation for this position will be competitive with market rates and based on experience.
