Job Summary:The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing equipment and machine tools within our facilities. This is a hands-on role that requires a strong understanding of mechanical systems and a problem-solving approach.
Key Responsibilities:- Complete routine maintenance work on equipment and machines, as per Argus' preventative maintenance task sheets and schedules.
- Deliver maintenance and repair schedules as directed by the Maintenance Supervisors, ensuring quality and customer requirements are met.
- Evaluate machinery and equipment condition, reporting concerns to the Maintenance Supervisors.
- Troubleshoot and provide emergency unscheduled repairs on machines which are not working. Advise downtime information to the Maintenance Supervisor.
- Read and understand drawings, manuals, and specifications to assess machine functionality and assist in making repairs and/or adjustments to machine tools.
- Advise Maintenance Supervisor or Manager of machine parts and specialty tools to be ordered to keep machines and equipment running.
- Operate all machines and equipment within the shops and use shop tools, as required, to determine and deliver maintenance needs.
- Registered Journeyman Certificate in the Millwright trade.
- 3+ years' experience operating machine tools or equipment.
- High school diploma and/or other relevant trade credentials would be an asset.
- Knowledge of safe work practices, Quality Assurance requirements, and Continuous Improvement (Lean Manufacturing) principles.
- Machine shop environment with extended walking/standing, limited sitting.
- Working wearing personal protective equipment.
- Lifting regularly up to 50 lbs. without mechanical assistance.
