Key Responsibilities

This position involves architecting, implementing, and maintaining core animation systems in Unreal Engine 5, as well as designing and developing user interfaces for these systems. The successful candidate will work closely with programmers, animators, product designers, leads, and external technology partners across multiple teams and time zones.

Requirements
  • A minimum of 3 years of professional experience in game/VFX/animation system development
  • Previous experience developing tools in Unreal and extensive knowledge of C++ programming
  • Strong linear algebra skills and understanding of linear algebra applications in software
  • Experience with multi-threaded programming and various system tasks such as graphics, audio, I/O, networking, memory handling, debuggers, etc.
  • A solid grasp of animation concepts and principles
  • Experience with application-level programming, such as script compilers and user-facing tools
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both technical and non-technical
  • Performance-oriented development and optimization skills
Nice-to-Have Skills
  • Knowledge of rigging systems, animation state machines, low-level animation systems, physics-based animation, and/or IK systems
  • Demonstrated interest in gaming and animation
  • An eye for detail and appreciation for game-making craft
  • Fluency in state-of-the-art animation systems, algorithms, and techniques
  • Experience with gameplay systems, such as character movement, collision querying, and action sequencing
