Job Title: Registered Nurse

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team at PHSA. As a Registered Nurse, you will provide high-quality patient care, work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams, and contribute to the development of evidence-based practices.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct patient care, including assessments, diagnoses, and treatment plans.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
  • Conduct health education and promotion activities to promote healthy behaviors and disease prevention.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
Requirements:
  • Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
  • Two (2) years' recent experience providing trauma-informed acute or community health nursing care/services to patients who have a combination of physical, psychiatric, and/or concurrent substance abuse/misuse disorders.
  • Successful completion of Occupational First Aid II (OFA II) or OFA III techniques for positions at Ford Mountain Correctional Centre.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Working knowledge of community health nursing theory, including mental health and addictions, communicable diseases, primary care, and practice within a patient/family-centered approach.
  • Working knowledge of BCCNM's Standards for Nursing Practice.
  • Knowledge of the BC Mental Health Act and other facilities and community resources.
