Indigenous Learning Faculty Opportunity
Lakehead University invites applications for a tenure-track faculty appointment in the Department of Indigenous Learning. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching, research, and service in the area of Indigenous Studies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach courses in Indigenous Studies, including introductory and advanced courses
- Conduct research in Indigenous Studies, with a focus on community-based research
- Develop and maintain relationships with Indigenous communities and organizations
- Contribute to the development of the Department of Indigenous Learning
Requirements:
- PhD in Indigenous Studies or a related field
- Experience working with Indigenous communities and organizations
- Experience in teaching and research in Indigenous Studies
- Strong commitment to community-based research and Indigenous knowledges
Preferred Qualifications:
- Lived experience as an Indigenous person with strong ties to Indigenous nation(s) and Indigenous knowledges
- Experience with experiential learning and online or alternative modes of delivery
