Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Automotive Painting and Refinishing Technician to join our team at CSN HAMILTON. This is a permanent, full-time opportunity with a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package.

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 3 years' experience in the automotive refinishing industry, with expertise in repairing and refinishing damaged vehicle bodies. They will be responsible for cleaning and maintaining their workspace, replacing front-end components, body components, doors, and frame, as well as operating equipment such as soldering guns and uni-body machines.

This role requires strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will also possess excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to accurately complete tasks and meet deadlines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Clean and maintain work space
  • Replace front end components, body components, doors and frame and underbody components
  • File, grind and sand body surfaces to be repaired
  • Mask and tape auto body surfaces in preparation for painting
  • Hammer out dents, buckles and defects using blocks and hammers
  • Remove damaged fenders, panels and grills and bolt or weld replacement parts into place
  • Apply primers and repaint surfaces
  • Mix paint, blend and match colors
  • Operate soldering equipment or use plastic filler to fill holes, dents and seams
  • Straighten bent frames using frame and underbody pulling and anchoring equipment
Requirements
  • 3+ years of experience in automotive refinishing
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
