About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Daycare Worker to join our team at Grandma Gooch Daycare Inc. As an Early Childhood Educator, you will play a vital role in supporting the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children in our care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Child Development Planning: Assess children's development to create personalized learning plans that cater to their unique needs.
  • Childcare Support: Bathe, diaper, and feed infants and toddlers, ensuring their basic needs are met.
  • Program Development: Design and implement child-care programs that promote the overall development of children, including physical, cognitive, emotional, and social growth.
  • Storytelling and Engagement: Engage children in activities through storytelling, teaching songs, and preparing crafts, fostering a love for learning.
  • Assistance and Guidance: Support early childhood educators in carrying out programs that promote children's development, and provide guidance on proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits.
  • Observation and Reporting: Monitor children for signs of potential learning or behavioral problems and submit written observations to early childhood educators or supervisors.
  • Staff Meetings and Communication: Participate in staff meetings to discuss children's progress and problems, ensuring open communication and collaboration.
Requirements
  • Education: College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years.
  • Experience: 1 to less than 7 months of experience in a related field.
  • Certifications: Child Development Worker (ECE level 2) certification.
  • Personal Qualities: Punctuality, efficient interpersonal skills, flexibility, interpersonal awareness, reliability, and values and ethics.
Work Environment
  • Supervision: 1 to 2 people.
  • Work Language: English.
  • Hours: 40 hours per week.
