What is the opportunity?

As a Royal Bank of Canada ambassador, you will play a key role in providing exceptional client experiences and collaborating with colleagues and partners to help students and newcomers achieve their financial goals. This role will focus on developing partnerships with local on-campus communities to support students with their financial needs. You will be responsible for establishing relationships with community partners, delivering financial advice and education, and collaborating with internal and external partners to maximize interactions. Your expertise will contribute to creating meaningful and memorable experiences that drive satisfaction and loyalty.

Work environment is primarily at your on-campus location, with occasional virtual and other locations where events may take place.

What will you do?

  • Build and grow partnerships with on-campus support services and student societies to enable our ability to reach as many students as possible.
  • You will be a One RBC Advisor with a breadth and depth of expertise across everyday banking, investments, and credit, leveraging Advice Experiences to provide a robust digital-first experience on both personal and business needs.
  • Focus on student and newcomer education and demonstration, leveraging technology to deliver a memorable client experience, drive brand value, and retain relationships.
  • Inspire, orchestrate, and pioneer superior partner and client experiences.
  • Collaborate with One RBC Partners as well as partners beyond RBC to ensure students and newcomers receive customized, expert advice.
  • Travel in-market and on-campus to meet with community partners and clients as required.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • Strong understanding of our Student banking, Professional student banking, and newcomer offers.
  • A warm, friendly, and approachable attitude with a demonstrated passion for putting clients first, as well as demonstrated success in a fast-paced retail environment.
  • Above-average digital literacy across a broad range of devices (e.g., smartphones, tablets, laptops, etc.) and the ability to learn new technology quickly.
  • Superior emotional intelligence and situational awareness skills, as well as problem-solving and people skills, with the ability to build strong relationships and proactively connect with clients.
  • Strong communication skills and a comfort level in public speaking during advice events.
  • Strong multi-tasker and self-starter who is comfortable working independently, as well as in a flexible environment.
  • Mutual Funds accreditation (e.g., Investment Funds in Canada or the Canadian Securities Course).

Nice-to-have

  • Track record in building rapport and maintaining client relationships within the financial or service industry.
  • Able to speak/communicate financial advice in languages other than English, an asset.
  • Fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese.
