Job Title: Red Seal Heavy Duty Mechanic

We are seeking a skilled and certified Red Seal Heavy Duty Mechanic to join a busy team in the steel manufacturing and scrap metal recycling industry.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the maintenance and repair of heavy machinery, specifically brands such as Komatsu, Liebherr, and Caterpillar (Cat).

The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing issues, performing repairs, and ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our equipment.

  • Maintenance & Repair: Perform routine maintenance and repairs on heavy machinery, including Komatsu, Liebherr, and Cat equipment.
  • Diagnostics: Use diagnostic tools and techniques to identify mechanical issues and develop effective repair strategies.
  • Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot complex mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems to ensure proper functionality.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance activities, and parts inventory.
  • Safety Compliance: Follow all safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with other mechanics and support staff to achieve departmental goals.

The ideal candidate will have a valid Red Seal Heavy Duty Mechanic certification, a minimum of 3-5 years of experience working with heavy equipment, and strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

The successful candidate will also have excellent verbal and written communication skills, be physically capable of lifting heavy equipment, and work in various weather conditions.

This is a full-time permanent opportunity with a competitive hourly wage of $42-$47, depending on experience, and a flexible morning start between 5:00 - 7:00 am with 20% over time.
