Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Construction Project Director to lead our construction services team and manage our construction project portfolio. The ideal candidate will have 5-10 years of experience in commercial construction project management, preferably in the retail sector.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise construction projects and lead the team towards achieving corporate goals and objectives.
  • Support the Real Estate team and other internal partners by participating in the development of technical solutions and negotiation with multiple business stakeholders.
  • Responsible for cost estimation of projects and preparation of budgets leading to execution.
  • Implement best practices in project management and ensure the proper selection of external consultants.
  • Review and approval of project calls for tender and analysis of bid packages.
  • Approve the awarding of all mandates and construction contracts.
  • Prepare project timelines and schedules for execution.
  • Manage construction costs to ensure they remain within the budgetary envelope limits.
  • Review, analyze, and approve/disapprove contract payment requests.
  • Negotiate contractual agreements with consultants and contractors.
  • Produce project status reports as required by management.
Requirements
  • 5-10 years of experience in commercial construction project management, preferably in the retail sector.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or architecture, or DEC in these disciplines, or extensive experience in the construction industry at the project management and supervision level.
  • Professional certification or active membership in a recognized professional association.
  • Mastery of project management techniques and tools.
  • Ability to prepare construction cost estimates.
  • Proficiency with various software packages, including Microsoft Office and MS Project.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to work independently.
