About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief of Laboratory Medicine and Operations to join our team at Ancaster Endoscopy Clinic. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our medical laboratory, ensuring the highest standards of quality and patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Management
    • Direct and control daily operations of the medical laboratory
    • Assign health care workers to specific projects and programs
    • Coordinate the delivery of health care services within the department
  • Strategic Planning
    • Plan and control budget and expenditures
    • Review budgets and spending to ensure departments operate within funding limits
  • Staff Management
    • Hire, train, direct and motivate staff
    • Supervise laboratory activities
  • Quality and Patient Care
    • Evaluate daily operations to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
    • Develop evaluation systems to monitor health care services
  • Communication and Collaboration
    • Consult with boards of directors, senior managers and government officials
    • Co-ordinate work of doctors, nurses and other staff
Requirements
  • Education
    • Bachelor's degree
  • Experience
    • 5 years or more of experience in a medical laboratory setting
  • Skills and Knowledge
    • Strong leadership and management skills
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
    • Knowledge of medical laboratory procedures and regulations
