COWI is seeking a highly skilled Senior Bridge Design Engineer to join our team in Vancouver. As a key member of our engineering team, you will play a critical role in designing and developing innovative bridge solutions for our clients.

About the Role

We are looking for a seasoned bridge design professional with a strong background in structural engineering and project management. Your expertise will be essential in leading bridge design projects from initial concept to implementation, ensuring that our clients receive high-quality solutions that meet their needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate teams of engineers and technicians, providing guidance and mentorship to junior staff
  • Perform structural analysis, design, and evaluation, preparing calculations, drawings, work plans, schedules, and budgets
  • Develop and prepare technical specifications, engineering reports, and other technical documents
  • Research and review design options for technical and financial impact
  • Liaise with clients, partners, and other stakeholders as needed

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, with a minimum of 8 years of related industry experience in bridge design and project management
  • Registered Professional Engineer in British Columbia, or ability to obtain within 12 months of employment
  • Strong technical expertise in 3D structural modeling, analysis software, and modern bridge design codes
  • Familiarity with structural design codes, drafting software, and structural analysis software programs
  • Prior experience guiding structural design teams, with a track record of delivering projects on time and within budget
