About the Role
COWI A/S is seeking a highly skilled Senior Bridge Design Engineer to join our team in Vancouver. As a key member of our bridge design team, you will be responsible for leading bridge design projects from initial concept to implementation.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and develop engineering projects, including inspections, evaluations, rehabilitations, and designs of bridge structures.
- Define the scope and selection of problems for investigation, develop concepts and approaches, and make key technical decisions.
- Supervise and coordinate teams of engineers and technicians, including reviewing work produced and mentoring junior staff.
- Perform structural analysis, design, and evaluation, and prepare calculations, drawings, work plans, schedules, and budgets.
- Liaise with other professionals, clients, and third parties as needed.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, with a minimum of 8 years of related industry experience in Bridge Design and Project Management.
- Registered Professional Engineer in British Columbia, or ability to obtain within 12 months of employment.
- Great technical expertise with 3D structural modelling with analysis software, demonstrated experience developing tasks in bridge design and construction, and working knowledge of modern bridge design codes.
- Familiarity with structural design codes, drafting software, and structural analysis software programs.
- Prior experience guiding structural design teams, consistently delivering on time and within budgets.
