Role Overview

Forward Education seeks a skilled Learning Experience Designer to lead the success of our K-12 educator community as they integrate coding and robotics with environmental education.

About the Role

This dynamic position involves working cross-functionally across the company to support the implementation of our product, the Climate Action Kit, in school districts. The ideal candidate will create a robust professional development program that empowers educators to seamlessly integrate the kit into their teaching practices.

Responsibilities
  • Design a comprehensive professional development program for K-12 educators.
  • Apply instructional design principles to develop impactful learning solutions, including workshops, webinars, e-learning modules, and classroom aids.
  • Ensure all content meets quality standards, including AODA requirements.
  • Facilitate hands-on training sessions on the BBC micro:bit, MakeCode, and our Climate Action Kit.
  • Collect feedback, conduct assessments, and make recommendations to improve the PD initiatives.
  • Stay updated on the latest trends, tools, and best practices in learning theory, coding, robotics, environmental education, and edtech.
  • Collaborate with school administrators, STEAM coaches, and classroom educators to customize PD learning journeys for clients.
Qualifications
  • 3+ years experience in teaching, training, or a similar role.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Education, Computer Science, Engineering, Science, or a related field.
  • Experience in K-12 education is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of instructional design and adult learning principles.
  • Experience working with micro:bit, Lego, Sphero, or similar educational coding and robotics products.
