Project Director

Job Overview:

We are seeking a seasoned Project Director to oversee all surface capital projects at the Barrick Hemlo site. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, executing, and safely delivering these projects.

About the Role:

• The Project Director will define project requirements and scope, acquire resources, and supervise project team members including contractors.
• They will ensure efficient delivery of project deliverables, effective quality control, clear communication of expectations to stakeholders, and upward reporting to senior management.
• The role involves strategic planning of all surface capital projects over their entire lifecycle, including long-term planning, budgeting, and LOM planning.
• Develop and implement comprehensive project plans for surface, processing, and tailings management.
• Conduct cost-benefit analyses, risk analyses, and ROI calculations to determine project feasibility.
• Coordinate with all departments and area managers to ensure project objectives and deliverables are met on schedule and budget.
• Manage project activities throughout their lifecycle, including resource allocation, scheduling, documentation, budget, and other factors necessary for success.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in an Engineering or technical field preferred but not necessary depending on experience.
• At least 5-10 years of experience in the mining industry is required, with a minimum of 5 years' experience in Project Management.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) training or certification is highly valued.
• Proven track record in managing underground and surface mining projects, including processing and tailings facilities.
• Strong understanding of mining operations, mineral processing, and tailings management.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in project management software and tools.
• Ability to work under pressure and in challenging environments.
