Job Title: Produce Buyer - Wholesale Specialist

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Produce Buyer to join our team at Mama's Grocery. As a Produce Buyer, you will be responsible for purchasing and managing our produce inventory, ensuring that our stores receive the freshest and highest-quality products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Study market reports and trade periodicals to stay up-to-date on industry trends and prices.
  • Arrange products according to planograms to maximize sales and customer satisfaction.
  • Establish and maintain contact with suppliers to negotiate prices and ensure timely deliveries.
  • Maintain adequate stock levels to meet customer demand.
  • Negotiate prices, discounts, and credit terms with suppliers.
  • Oversee the distribution of merchandise to our stores.
  • Provide excellent customer service to our customers.
  • Review requirements of our stores and determine the quantity and type of merchandise to purchase.
  • Select and purchase merchandise for resale.
  • Supervise the work of other buyers.
  • Visit trade shows, showrooms, factories, and product design events to stay informed about new products and trends.

Requirements:

  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and other relevant software.
