Mama\u0027s Grocery is seeking a skilled Produce Procurement Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for purchasing and acquiring merchandise for resale at our wholesale establishment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Study market reports, trade periodicals, and sales promotion materials to stay informed about market trends and opportunities.
  • Arrange products according to planograms to ensure optimal display and sales.
  • Establish and maintain contact with suppliers to negotiate prices, discounts, credit terms, and transportation arrangements.
  • Maintain adequate stock levels to meet customer demand.
  • Oversee the distribution of merchandise to outlets and provide customer service.
  • Review requirements of the establishment and determine the quantity and type of merchandise to purchase.
  • Select and purchase merchandise for resale, ensuring quality and compliance with company standards.
  • Supervise the work of other buyers and provide guidance and support as needed.
  • Visit trade shows, showrooms, factories, and product design events to stay informed about new products and trends.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor\u0027s degree in a related field.
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a related field.
  • 3-4 years of supervision experience.
Computer and Technology Knowledge:
  • Spreadsheet software.
  • MS Excel.
  • MS Outlook.
