About the Opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Squamish Nation as a Language and Cultural Program Facilitator. As a key member of the Ta7lnew̓ás Education, Employment and Training Department, you will play a vital role in delivering language and cultural instruction to students and providing mentorship. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of the Squamish language and culture, and will be responsible for planning and delivering language and cultural programs for the EET department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement language and cultural programs for students
  • Provide mentorship and support to students
  • Collaborate with the EET team to achieve departmental goals
  • Work with community members to develop and implement language and cultural programming
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community partners and stakeholders

Requirements

  • Combination of education and experience in language and cultural instruction
  • Strong understanding of Squamish language and culture
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • High level of emotional intelligence and patience
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
