Full-time Lecturer in Biomedical Physiology and Kinesiology at Canadian Academy of Sport and Exercise Medicine

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced professional to join our team as a Full-time Lecturer in Biomedical Physiology and Kinesiology at the Canadian Academy of Sport and Exercise Medicine.
Key Responsibilities- Teaching and Curriculum Development: Design and deliver high-quality undergraduate laboratory- and/or lecture-based courses in areas including assessment of movement and function, etiology and treatment of musculoskeletal disorders, functional anatomy, applied physiological measurements, and active rehabilitation.
- Service and Community Engagement: Contribute to departmental initiatives, serve on committees, and engage with professionals in the kinesiology community and potential employers of our students and graduates.
- Research and Scholarship: Advance the understanding of physiology, movement, neuroscience, and human health through fundamental and applied research, education, and service.
- Education: Hold a graduate or professional degree in kinesiology, rehabilitation sciences, movement science, or a related discipline.
- Experience: Have a background of clinical and teaching experience, with demonstrated evidence of effective teaching of lecture-, laboratory-, and clinical-based undergraduate courses and fostering of inclusive learning environments.
- Skills and Qualifications: Possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to integrate scientific research into practice and critically appraise literature relevant to kinesiology.
- Advanced Training or Certification: Possess advanced training or formal certification in clinical skills in related fields.
- Experience in Increasing Equity and Diversity: Have demonstrated experience in increasing equity and diversity in their previous institutional environment(s) or in curricula.
- Leadership Potential: Show clear interest and potential to effectively advocate for the field of kinesiology within and outside the University, including with professional associations and certification bodies.
The Department of Biomedical Physiology and Kinesiology at the Canadian Academy of Sport and Exercise Medicine is committed to advancing the understanding of physiology, movement, neuroscience, and human health through fundamental and applied research, education, and service.
We offer undergraduate degrees in kinesiology, biomedical physiology, and behavioural neuroscience, as well as graduate degrees in MSc and PhD. Our department features research clusters in exercise and environmental physiology, cardiovascular physiology, chronic diseases, neuromechanics, and neuroscience.
