Medical Laboratory Technologist II

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Technologist II to join our team at Provincial Laboratory Medicine Services (PLMS). As a key member of our laboratory team, you will be responsible for performing a variety of laboratory tests and procedures, including routine and specialized tests, to ensure accurate and timely results.
Key Responsibilities- Perform laboratory tests and procedures, including routine and specialized tests, to ensure accurate and timely results.
- Collect and process laboratory specimens, including blood, urine, and tissue samples.
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, including microscopes, centrifuges, and automated analyzers.
- Develop and implement quality control procedures to ensure accuracy and reliability of laboratory results.
- Collaborate with laboratory staff and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless communication and coordination of laboratory services.
- Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current with new technologies and procedures.
- Graduate of a recognized school of Medical Technology, plus a minimum of one year's recent, related experience.
- Canadian Society of Medical Laboratory Science (CSMLS) Certified.
- Ability to work independently and as a team member.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to organize workload assignments and set priorities.
- Ability to develop and present educational material.
- Ability to operate related equipment.
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
