About the Role
As a Senior Data Scientist on Thumbtack's growth marketing team, you'll leverage your analytical expertise and marketing knowledge to drive high-impact projects. You will work closely with a cross-functional team to optimize various marketing channels, drive personalization, and discover new channels.
Responsibilities
- Analyze user behaviors, identify target audiences, and measure campaign performance for marketing partners.
- Identify opportunities and provide recommendations to optimize individual campaigns and marketing channel mixes.
- Design and analyze experiments for causal inference.
- Partner with MarTech stakeholders, product managers, engineers, etc. to scope new features and improve performance via TV audience expansion and SEM auto-bidding.
- Develop topic area expertise in campaign measurement, A/B testing, customer segmentation, and targeting optimization.
- In collaboration with cross-functional partners, build new solutions and capabilities to scale growth marketing.
- Contribute to our team and company data culture through accessible data table design and maintenance.
What We're Looking For
We're seeking a highly experienced Senior Data Scientist with 5+ years of marketing data science/analytics experience. You should have familiarity with digital marketing, experience with campaign measurement and performance optimization, and a passion for problem-solving, critical thinking, and data analytics.
Requirements
- 5+ years of marketing data science/analytics experience.
- Familiarity with digital marketing and experience with campaign measurement and performance optimization.
- Experience with running channel incrementality tests and building Marketing Mix Models.
- Passion for problem-solving, critical thinking, and data analytics.
- Sharp business judgment and ability to see past the noise.
- Strong communicator, attentive listener, and compelling explainer.
- Expert in SQL, proficient in Python or R, proficient in data visualization tools such as Looker, LookerStudio, or Tableau.
Bonus Points If
You have experience in relevant tech companies, e.g., consumer-facing or marketplace, experience in an analytical environment outside of analytics, e.g., management consulting, or a Bachelor's or advanced degree in statistics, math, data science, computer science, or economics.
