Senior Geotechnical Engineer and Operations Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Geotechnical Engineer and Operations Manager to join our team at Pinchin. As a key member of our Geotechnical Services Group, you will be responsible for leading and managing our geotechnical engineering practice, ensuring the well-being and safety of our employees, and providing technical assistance to clients.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and manage the geotechnical engineering practice, including supervising employees, monitoring job proficiency, and reviewing technical reports.
- Ensure the well-being and safety of Pinchin employees at work sites, and coordinate group resources, including employee allocation, equipment control, and maintenance.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with clients, contractors, and regulatory body representatives, and provide technical assistance to employees.
- Oversee the preparation of contract documents to Pinchin standards, and track monthly group performance.
- Develop and maintain a CCIL Certified Lab, and provide technical writing skills for preparing geotechnical engineering reports and letters for clientele.
- Engage in business development, building and maintaining client relationships, and monitoring industry trends.
- University degree in Geotechnical, Civil, or Geological Engineering or related degree and experience.
- 10+ years of experience in a geotechnical engineering role with experience in people and operational management.
- A Professional Engineering Designation in the Province of Ontario or be eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario.
- Experience managing a CCIL Certified Lab, considered an asset.
- Strong communication skills, professional presentation, and technical expertise.
- Familiarity with invoicing, budgeting, and other areas of project-related financial management.
