About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Interim Vice President, Research and Advocacy to join our team at Daily Bread Food Bank. As a key member of our Senior Management team, you will be responsible for leading our research and advocacy efforts to address poverty and food insecurity in Toronto.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive advocacy strategy to influence government policy and decision-making.
  • Lead research projects to identify causes and consequences of poverty and develop evidence-based solutions.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including government officials, community organizations, and media representatives.
  • Develop and execute communications strategies to raise awareness about poverty and food insecurity.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to staff members in the Research and Advocacy department.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in a relevant field, such as social sciences or humanities.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in policy research and development, advocacy, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of public policy development and implementation.
  • Experience in leadership roles, including team management and budgeting.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and project management skills.
