Senior Estimator Job Description

KAPP Infrastructure Inc. is a leading Canadian General Heavy Civil Contractor with 40 years of experience in infrastructure construction projects.

We deliver complex projects in key markets, including water distribution, hydro, underground works, large bridge structures, and other major civil works.

As a Senior Estimator, you will play a crucial role in calculating major cost estimates and contributing to the planning, development, negotiation, and contract execution of projects on the Building and Municipal side.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform cost analysis and determine project duration
  • Procure vendors and subcontractors
  • Manage resources and ensure deadlines are met
  • Deliver properly organized estimates, budgets, and schedules
  • Track project progress and report to management
  • Formulate contingency plans and manage risks
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest estimating technology and industry techniques
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Architectural Engineering
  • Over 8 years of experience as a Senior Estimator, Chief Estimator, or Estimating Manager
  • Experience in heavy civil work, particularly in earthwork, roadwork, bridges, and underground construction
  • Experience pursuing infrastructure projects from $10-400M
  • Proficiency in HCSS computer programs such as Heavybid or Paydirt
  • Excellent research, proposal writing, and oral presentation skills
  • Advanced computer skills
  • Ability to travel and perform site visits
