Job Description

The Outside Account Manager will play a key role in developing lasting relationships with customers to maximize profitable sales and grow market share. This includes assessing customer needs, understanding their business, and identifying new opportunities for growth.

Responsibilities

  • Visit customer offices, shops, and job sites to assess their business and develop strong relationships
  • Prospect and identify new customers and alert the Profit Centre Manager and Credit Team of viable prospects
  • Lead and own the sales process, including producing sales call reports and territory planning
  • Analyze customer data and develop strategies to profitably grow market share while meeting targets
  • Process orders, quotes, and job packages as required
  • Investigate and resolve customer issues, address short payments and returns in a timely fashion
  • Work with the Profit Centre Manager and Credit Team to facilitate payment of all accounts receivable
  • Develop and oversee implementation of strategic vendor programs to grow the business
  • Understand and follow all safety regulations at customer locations
  • Support the Customer Service Representatives and all Profit Centre activities as part of the team

Qualifications

  • College or University degree
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in outside sales or account management
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driver's abstract
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software
  • Outstanding customer service and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to build comprehensive knowledge of products and value-added services
  • Excellent relationship building skills with customers, vendors, and teammates
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining tight deadlines
